KENWOOD BASIC C2

 This kit replaces all of the small electrolytic capacitors in a Kenwood Basic C2 Pre-amp  with high quality Nichicon capacitors. The kit includes Nichicon MUSE, FG and FW series  capacitors that are designed to give premium sound quality when compared to general  purpose capacitors.

 Since exact replacements were not available for the push button switches, a new PC board has been designed to use readily available switches.  Uses boxed film capacitors, MUSE electrolytic capacitors and 1% metal film resistors.

 This kit replaces the RCA input and output connectors of a Kenwood Basic C2 preamplifier with Gold plated connectors. Earlier Basic C2 preamps had nickel plated RCA connectors that corroded! The connectors mount in the Basic C2 preamplifier without modification.

 This kit contains replacement IC’s and sockets for the Kenwood Basic C2 pre-amplifier. It also includes Zener diodes for the power supply voltage regulators that bring the power supply voltages into safe operation of the op-amps.

 The flat amp of the Kenwood Basic C2 uses the uPA68H dual J-FET transistor and a pair of 2SC1845 NPN transistors. Earlier versions of the Basic series components used the uPA68H, while never versions used the uPA68HA. This kit includes 2 each uPA68HA dual J-FETs and 2 pairs of gain matched 2SC1845 NPN transistors.

 This relay replaces the muting relay in a Kenwood Basic C2 preamplifier. Failure of the muting relay can be the cause of no output.

  This kit replaces the power switch of a Kenwood Basic C2 Preamplifier.  The kit includes a power switch and .01uf 250 VAC ceramic disc capacitor The switch mounts in the original holes using the original screws.
