This speaker terminal assembly replaces the factory speaker terminals in a Kenwood Basic M1 power amplifier.

This pc board assembly replaces the RCA connectors in a Kenwood Basic M1 power amplifier.
Item # 8002007
The Basic M1 uses a basic long tailed pair with a resistor in the emitter circuit for the first stage differential amplifier. This approximates to a current source, but is not as good as a full active version. This modification adds an precision active current source for the first differential stage.

The Kenwood Basic M1 power amplifier was designed with the bias diodes mounted on brackets that are attached to the heat sink. The leads on the bias diode are not long enough to allow mounting the bis diodes directly on the heatsink. This modification allows the bias diodes to be mounted directly on the heat sink for better thermal tracking.

This pc board assembly replaces the single turn 500 ohm open frame trimmer potentiometers with sealed 10 turn 500 ohm trimmer potentiometers. A completely assembled set of 2 are included to replace the bias adjust potentiometers in both channels.
