If you have a Kenwood Basic M2 or M2A that is being used with a Y cable, there can be issues with interaction between channels. The Kenwood Basic M2 and M2A are direct coupled, as there are not any capacitors in the signal path. The interaction between channels can cause instability resulting in catastrophic failure. This module is installed on the header connector on the level control pc board. The Connector is then plugged into the module.

The first differential stage of the Kenwood Basic M2 and M2A the use the uPA68H dual J-FET transistors and pair of 2SC1845 NPN transistors. Earlier versions of the Basic M2/M2A used the uPA68H, while never versions used the improved uPA68HA. The 100 ohm single turn offset trimmer potentiometers are prone to contamination and hard to adjust. The 10 turn potentiometers allow for a more accurate offset adjustment.
